This upgrade is part of the Technical Improvement Program (TIP), and is designed for single web operations, lightweight products, short sheets, and sensitive materials.
Wrapping the upper knife cylinder with a tubular lightweight steel assembly helps the sheet transfer from the knife section to the high-speed tapes section. This allows in more predicable operation and efficiency by reducing the amount of turbulence, jams, and sheet damage in this area.
